Klax World: About Klaxworld.com

Since I first played Klax, on the Turbografx-16, I was hooked. It had the fast paced puzzle action of Tetris, combined with logic aspects of chess. It may not rival any of today's action based shooters, but if you enjoy a great puzzle game, Klax is one you have to try.

In an effort to keep the Klax tradition alive, I am actively developing an Androd based version of the Game, which Ihope to have available in the next couple of months. If there any among you that would like to contribute, i'd be happy to hear from you.

Gameplay

Klax features a conveyor belt at the top of the screen. It constantly rolls toward the playing area, delivering a steady supply of blocks. In the playing area, blocks can be eliminated by getting three or more "Klaxes" (groups) of the same color in a line. The line may be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

Klax History

Inspired by Tic-Tac-Toe, & Tetris, Akers programmed Klax in just a few weeks using Amiga Basic, then ported it line-by-line to C. In a 1990 interview, he said he wanted to "produce something playable, compact and relatively quick to develop." The name was chosen for the sound the tiles make as they come down the conveyor belt.
